20. The Large Cellar

The cellar consists of two naves and features a room measuring 29 x 9 m. The cross vault rests on rectangular beams which are supported in the center by 5 round columns of 68 cm in diameter. The height to the ceiling is 5,50 m. During large-scale restoration works in 1927, the vault was found in a remarkably well-preserved state. The wedges were filled with concrete and the entire ceiling secured by a reinforced-concrete structure.
